Community Guidelines, Gutsy Ltd

Last Updated: April 6, 2026 · Version 1.0

Welcome to the Just Gutsy community. Our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and welcoming space where solo travellers can build genuine connections. These guidelines form part of our Terms and Conditions and apply to all interactions within the App and at any in-person Meetups organised through our platform.

By using our Services, you agree to follow these rules. Violating them can lead to consequences including content removal, account suspension, or permanent removal of your account, depending on the severity and nature of the violation.

1. Our Core Principles

Everything we ask of our community comes down to three principles. Be Authentic: represent yourself honestly, because our community is built on trust. Be Respectful: treat others with kindness and empathy, recognising that we are a global community with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Be Safe: prioritise your safety and the safety of others, and review our Safety Guidelines for practical advice before meeting anyone in person.

2. Prohibited Content and Conduct

To ensure the platform remains safe and welcoming, the following behaviours and types of content are strictly prohibited. This is not an exhaustive list, but it provides clear examples of what we do not allow.

Category Prohibited Actions & Content (with examples)
Hate Speech & Discrimination We have a zero-tolerance policy for content or behaviour that attacks, demeans, or promotes discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, or national origin. Example: Using racial slurs, promoting harmful stereotypes, or creating a group that excludes people based on their nationality.
Harassment, Bullying & Threats Unwanted sexual advances, stalking, bullying, intimidation, and any threats of violence are strictly forbidden. Example: Repeatedly sending unwanted messages after being asked to stop, threatening to harm someone, or posting content designed to embarrass or humiliate another user.
Violence & Incitement Do not post content that glorifies, promotes, or incites violence, self-harm, or terrorism. Example: Sharing graphic images of violence, encouraging others to commit violent acts, or expressing support for terrorist organisations.
Nudity & Sexual Content This is a platform for making friends and travel connections, not a dating app. Do not post sexually explicit content, including nudity, pornography, or sexually suggestive content. Soliciting for commercial sex or trafficking is illegal and strictly prohibited. Example: Sending unsolicited explicit photos, using a sexually graphic profile picture, or using the App to solicit sexual encounters. Persistent romantic advances directed at users who have not welcomed them will be treated as harassment.
Inauthenticity & Impersonation Be yourself. Do not create fake profiles, impersonate other people (including public figures), or misrepresent your identity, age, or qualifications. Example: Using someone else's photos as your own, lying about your age to circumvent our 18+ rule, or creating an account for a fictional person. Attempting to circumvent an account ban by creating a new account, or using bots, VPNs, or other technical means to evade platform restrictions, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent removal of the new account.
Spam & Commercial Solicitation Do not use the App for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. This includes unsolicited advertising, promoting events for profit, or directing users to external websites for financial gain. Example: Mass-messaging users with a link to your business, creating a profile to sell products, or running a paid tour without authorisation. Mass or low-effort unsolicited messaging such as sending generic or context-free messages to large numbers of users without genuine intent to connect is also prohibited and may result in account suspension.
Meetup Conduct If you create or join a Meetup through the App, you are expected to provide accurate details and to notify other participants promptly if you need to cancel. Repeated last-minute cancellations or unexplained no-shows are disrespectful to other users and may result in enforcement action. Example: Creating a Meetup, having users join and make plans around it, then cancelling without notice or simply not showing up—particularly if this is a recurring pattern.
Illegal Activities Do not use the App to organise or engage in any illegal activity, including the sale of drugs, weapons, or other regulated goods. Example: Creating a Meetup to sell illegal substances or using the in-app chat to coordinate criminal activity.
Privacy Violations Do not share private information about other users without their explicit consent. Example: Posting screenshots of a private conversation, sharing another user's phone number or home address, or posting photos of someone who has asked you not to.
Content Involving Minors Individuals under 18 are not permitted to use the App. You must not share photographs of, personal information about, or arrange contact through the App with any person under the age of 18, regardless of local law. Any such content will be removed immediately and the account permanently banned. We may report such conduct to the relevant authorities.

3. Enforcement: How We Handle Violations

We take violations of these guidelines seriously. Our approach to enforcement is designed to be fair and proportionate to the severity of the violation. Our enforcement process typically follows these steps, though we reserve the right to skip steps and act immediately in cases of severe misconduct.

Step Action When Applied
1. Remove Content The specific piece of violating content is removed from the platform. The user retains full access to their account. A notification may be sent explaining why the content was removed. Minor or first-time violations where the issue is the content itself rather than a pattern of behaviour (e.g., an inappropriate comment, a profile photo that violates our guidelines).
2. Account Suspension Your account is suspended for a set period, restricting your ability to interact with the App. The duration will depend on the severity of the violation. More serious or repeated violations, or where a pattern of behaviour suggests the content removal alone is insufficient (e.g., repeated harassment after a warning, sending unsolicited explicit content).
3. Permanent Ban Your account is permanently and irreversibly removed from the platform. Severe violations (e.g., illegal activity, hate speech, sexual solicitation, content involving minors) or repeated violations after prior enforcement actions.

We also reserve the right to issue a formal warning, a written notice that a violation has occurred as a standalone step before or alongside content removal, particularly for borderline conduct.

We reserve the right to permanently ban an account immediately and without a prior warning for severe misconduct, including any activity that is illegal or poses a risk to the safety of other users.

4. How to Report a Violation

If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately. You can report a user directly from their profile page or from within a specific conversation. You should report a user if they: request money or financial assistance of any kind; send threatening, abusive, or harassing messages; appear to be impersonating another person; are or appear to be under 18; share unsolicited sexual content; or make you feel unsafe in any way.

Our safety team reviews all reports and will take appropriate action. All reports are treated confidentially, and the reported user will not be told who submitted the report.

Please note that misusing the blocking feature, for example, repeatedly blocking and unblocking the same user as a means of harassment, is itself a violation of these guidelines and may result in enforcement action.

5. How to Appeal a Decision

We understand that mistakes can happen. If you believe your content was removed or your account was suspended or banned in error, you have the right to appeal our decision.

To appeal, please email our team at hello@justgutsy.com with the subject line "Account Appeal". Your email should include your username, the date the action was taken, and a brief explanation of why you believe our decision was incorrect. Our team will review your appeal and respond as quickly as possible. Please note that submitting an appeal does not guarantee the restoration of your content or account, and our decision on appeal is final.

6. No Monitoring Obligation

We do not proactively monitor all content but reserve full discretion to act when notified. However, we may use automated or manual tools to detect certain categories of prohibited content, including content involving minors, illegal activity, and hate speech. Where such tools are used, human review may follow before enforcement action is taken.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for helping us keep it a safe and welcoming place for all travellers.
