Prague is a stunning city with fairytale architecture, excellent beer, and a compact centre that's easy to explore on foot. For solo female travellers, it's generally very safe, violent crime against tourists is rare, and most of the city feels comfortable at all hours.
The safest and most enjoyable areas include Staré Město (Old Town, touristy but beautiful), Malá Strana (Lesser Town, quiet cobblestone streets below the castle), Vinohrady (the best neighbourhood for locals' restaurants and cafés), and Žižkov (bohemian, slightly edgier, great pubs). These areas are all well-connected by tram and metro.
The main issues in Prague are tourist scams rather than safety threats. Watch for overcharging in Old Town Square restaurants (always check the menu for prices), taxi drivers who don't use meters (use Bolt or Liftago apps instead), and money exchange booths with bad rates. Wenceslas Square's lower end can attract a seedier crowd at night.
The Prague metro and tram system is affordable, efficient, and safe. The city is very walkable, you can cross the centre in 30 minutes. Czech culture is reserved but friendly once you break through, and solo dining is completely normal.
